Get to Know Rich Chenitz, Amur’s Chief Commercial Officer

We are excited to introduce Rich Chenitz, Amur’s Chief Commercial Officer!  Two months into his tenure, Rich has had the opportunity to settle in and begin his work with the team to capitalize on the origination records of recent quarters and enhance Amur’s value to you, our vendor partners.

Recently, Rich sat down with us to speak about his background and what to expect from Amur with his leadership:

      Q: What do you see as the biggest opportunity for Vendors and Amur in the next 18 months?
Many banks in equipment finance are pulling back and preserving their liquidity. This gives Amur, an independent finance company, a tremendous opportunity to grow our business.

One of the keys to our success will be deepening our partnerships within the markets we serve. This includes both current markets, as well as new sectors where Amur is gaining significant traction.

I am confident in our ability to deliver for our partners by being easy to work with and by consistently providing a competitive financing solution.

      Q: How do you approach leading Amur’s sales organization? 
I have been asking a lot of questions, listening, learning, and developing a plan. My aim is to understand our teams' responsibilities and make sure we are all striving for a common goal.

It has been proven that highly engaged employees working together will provide greater outcomes. This is a significant reason why Amur's leadership team is so focused on collaboration both internally and with our vendor partners. I can begin to support effective collaboration by empowering employees, removing obstacles, and sharing wins amongst the teams.

      Q: How has your early career shaped where you are today?
After graduating from Boston University with an accounting degree, I went to work for Arthur Anderson Public Accounting.  I was able to learn a lot about different industries (retail, manufacturing, distribution, venture capital, etc.) as well as the financial performance of a company.  I thought of my early days in my career as you would build a house, to start with a strong foundation that you can always rely on.  So I tried to learn as much as possible and get advice from people I trusted who were much more senior than me.

      Q: What do you like to do outside of the office to recharge?
I especially enjoy traveling and spending time with my friends and family. I find much of my free time includes the outdoors, playing golf, watching my daughter’s lacrosse games, and walking in my neighborhood with our British Labradors.​​
