Insights from Amur's Credit Leader

Having financed over $6 billion in commercial equipment since 1996, we are deeply experienced in understanding our customers, the equipment they need and the financial solutions that will help them grow. This month, we sat down with Amur’s Chief Risk Officer, Andrea Zana, to discuss Amur’s success and plans for continued growth through its commitment to industry expertise, customer experience and constant evolution to serve an ever-changing economic landscape.

 

Q: What do you think makes Amur stand out in the financing marketplace today? 

During my 10-year tenure with Amur, we have grown to become one of the largest and most respected independent equipment finance lenders in the country. It all starts with service — we offer a level of service to our partners and customers that makes us one of the top financing options in the market today.

What allows us to offer such exemplary service when it comes to credit is the unmatched expertise of our underwriters — our teams truly know their industries inside and out.  Using this expertise as a base, we have been able to build common sense practices that deliver fast and accurate results to our vendor partners and their customers operating at the heart of the American economy.

Q: What do you attribute to Amur’s success over the years from a credit standpoint?

Amur’s success really comes down to three key things: deep industry knowledge, a data-driven approach, and a true passion for service. We’ve built a team that understands the nuances of the industries we serve, which allows us to structure deals in ways that makes sense for the businesses and the vendors with whom we partner. At the same time, we’re highly data-centric. We leverage our purpose-built technology platform and macro insights to make the right credit decisions — and quickly. But the Amur Difference is our passion and commitment: we are deeply invested in the success of our vendor partners and customers.

Q: What do you like to do outside of the office to recharge?

I love traveling with my family. I've found this to be a great way to experience new places and new views on life while spending quality time together. I’m also part of the adult fan club of the LEGO community: there’s something really satisfying about building a complex structure from scratch, to see an idea come to life and then be able to keep improving upon it – not unlike my experience at Amur!
