Valerie Wood joined Amur Equipment Finance (AmurEF) in 2016 as a relationship development manager. Her current role of supporting partners and creating business solutions perfectly embodies Wood’s passion of helping others. Wood can be credited for multiple enhancements and streamlined efficiencies both in and out of her specific department. Wood is especially interested in how new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, can be applied to improve the customer experience. Wood is inspired by what is happening with technological advancements and is excited to see how the equipment finance space adopts these new technologies.
Wood’s professional mission to challenge herself to grow while helping others extends to her local community. Wood has volunteered with local organizations including the Humane Society, American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She also chaired the Grand Island Harvest of Harmony parade in which AmurEF received both the Grand Marshall trophy and the First-Place award for the AmurEF float.
Wood always finds time to put the needs of others at the forefront of her efforts. Wood is a mentor within the company and serves on AmurEF’s formal mentor program where she helps mentor three employees in different departments. She also mentors local third graders within her community by volunteering with Junior Achievement USA, inspiring students to reach their full potential.
Todd Wainwright, AmurEF’s senior vice president, director of Risk, said, “Our goal within Valerie’s team is to make them the department that all others wish to emulate, demonstrating both leadership and community involvement. Simply put, Valerie exemplifies these traits.”
